Friday 21st of June saw a first for TalentEd, we hosted our first ever fundraising event. The TalentEd Table Tennis Tournament (try to say that five times in a row!) was held at our shared office Edspace with members from multiple education organisations taking part including Unifrog, Causeway Education and Tutor’s United, fun was had by all and it was a great opportunity to spend some time with our education neighbours. As well as hosting special guest, Neil Ehrenzweig and wife, Jenny who both had a go in proving their table tennis expertise.
It was a straight knockout format to add a bit of intensity as there’s nothing better than having a little healthy competition to make things worthwhile. As more people got knocked out, it only got more tense, but there could only be one victor. Tam from Uptree, we salute you and your mad pinging and ponging skills!
This was a real learning curve for TalentEd, but we are all very much in agreement that the tournament was a roaring success. We set out to raise awareness about our charity and our values, while also raising some funds and putting it towards something worthwhile. The £30 raised will be used to help us in our mission to assist the delivery of our programmes to bright, disadvantaged students who. It may not be millions but this is just the beginning. The table tennis tournament has provided us with hope and energy to do something bigger and even more fun in the future.
